Bitnodes data shows that more than 30% of the total number of Bitcoin reachable nodes in the world are concentrated in 5 countries: the top five are the United States, Germany, France, the Netherlands and Canada. In addition, the number of Bitcoin nodes in the world reached 42,591 nodes (including reachable and unreachable nodes), of which the United States still ranks first, followed by Germany and Canada.

As Bitcoin (BTC), designed as a global currency, continues to gain adoption around the world, Bitnodes estimates the Bitcoin peer-to-peer (P2P) network’s performance by analyzing the distribution of Bitcoin’s reachable nodes in major countries. relative size.

According to Bitnodes data on the 26th, the total number of Bitcoin reachable nodes it detected reached 14,089, of which more than 30% were located in 5 countries: the United States ranked first, with 1,833 (13%) reachable nodes, the third The second is Germany, with 1,343 nodes (9.5%), the third is France, with 437 (3.1%), and the Netherlands and Canada are fourth and fifth, with 370 (2.6 %) and 296 (2.1%).

Reachable Nodes vs. Unreachable Nodes

A Bitcoin node refers to a computer running the Bitcoin software, which completely or partially stores the database of all BTC transactions, and is connected to each other to verify transactions and maintain the consensus rules of the network.

According to the introduction of Bitnodes , nodes that can send and receive connections from peers in the Bitcoin peer-to-peer network can be considered as reachable nodes. Such nodes help enforce consensus rules to increase the resilience of the network, which is important for maintaining the health of the network. critical; while a Bitcoin node only establishes outgoing connections and does not accept incoming, it is considered an unreachable node, usually by default many nodes are unreachable because they are located in a company/ Behind an ISP firewall or NAT, a node may also be temporarily unreachable if it has reached its maximum allowed connections or is syncing to the latest block.

Bitnodes estimates that the number of Bitcoin nodes in the world has reached 42,591 nodes (including reachable and unreachable nodes), of which the United States is still the largest with 9,376 (28.95%) nodes, followed by Germany and Canada, respectively. 4,634 (14.34%) and 1,939 (5.99%), and the three countries control nearly half of the Bitcoin network nodes .
