Kazakhstan issued a license to the Binance exchange

The largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance in early October signed a cooperation agreement with the government of Kazakhstan. The company will help the authorities of the republic to fight the criminal use of digital currencies. In addition, Binance expressed its willingness to obtain a license to legally serve local users.

Last Thursday, Binance’s press service reported that the Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA) had issued a license to the exchange. The platform received the status of a regulated service for storing digital assets.

The license was issued within the framework of the Astana International Financial Center. This is a special economic zone where startups develop digital ecosystems and implement fintech solutions.

Digital currency and blockchain technologies are one of the directions in the work of the center. The head of the Asian division of the crypto company Gleb Kostarev emphasized:

We are proud to announce that Binance has taken another step towards becoming a compliance-focused exchange.
