El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele said on Twitter that El Salvador bought 80 bitcoins at a unit price of $19,000 yesterday (30), with a total value of about $1.52 million.
“Bitcoin is the future. So grateful to be selling it so cheaply,” Buglei wrote in the post.
However, El Salvador is not as lavish as it used to be. The last time the country bought bitcoin was in May of this year , when it bought 500 bitcoins at an average price of $30,744, with a total value of about $15.3 million. El Salvador has spent a total of $103.9 million on 2,301 bitcoins since September last year, but the value of those bitcoins has now halved by 55.03% to $46.6 million.
