Solana Labs, the development company of the public chain Solana, announced that its subsidiary Solana Mobile is developing a flagship Android phone – “Saga”, with unique functions and features, tightly integrated with the Solana blockchain, allowing users to easily trade and manage Digital assets, as long as you have a machine in hand, you can seamlessly integrate into the Web3 world.
According to reports, Saga is designed and manufactured by OSOM, a mobile phone brand that focuses on privacy and security. It has a special encrypted wallet function. It can be called an “improved version” of OSOM mobile phones. It has a built-in Web3 dApp store and integrates “Solana Pay” to promote On-chain payment for QR Code, a mobile wallet adapter, and a custodial solution “Seed Vault” that can store private keys and mnemonics on mobile phones.
On the hardware, the Saga will use top flagship specifications, including a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, a 6.67-inch OLED screen, 12GB RAM and 512GB ROM.
Solana Labs said the Saga, priced at about $1,000, is open for pre-order today with a $100 deposit and is expected to hit shelves in early 2023.
At the same time, Solana Labs also introduced Solana Mobile Stack (SMS), an open-source software suite for Android that allows developers to build mobile applications around the Solana blockchain and create a “secure element” for private key management.
