ClearDAO announced today the deployment of the barrier option template on Solana devnet. The Solana ecosystem is the latest smart contract platform ClearDAO is adding support for. The list of supported L1 and L2 blockchains includes Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, and Arbitrum as ClearDAO aims to provide a universal derivative infrastructure in the DeFi space.
The barrier option template deployed on Solana allows anyone to customize barrier option contracts. ClearDAO has already announced the integration intent of Chainlink oracle on the Solana blockchain to provide users with the best in class price feeds. In 2022, ClearDAO will offer more derivative templates for everyone looking to build and trade DeFi derivative contracts.
ClearDAO is a decentralized derivatives factory where DeFi developers can use the Clear SDK to build bespoke derivative products and launch derivative exchanges. The first proof of concept product — the barrier option marketplace is currently in public alpha on BSC and Arbitrum testnets for anyone to interact with.
The BSC and Arbitrum testnets marketplaces offer options on BTC, ETH and baskets of cryptocurrencies. The option products available on ClearDAO are barrier knockout options, not the standard vanilla options available elsewhere. The marketplace has an easy-to-navigate user interface where a 4 x 4 matrix displays the options of different maturities (1 day, 3 days, 7 days, 14 days) and barrier levels (5%, 7.5%, 10% 15%). They offer different risk profiles and expected returns to traders. Traders can trade both calls and puts to enhance returns and manage risks of their existing portfolios.
According to the project roadmap, ClearDAO will complete the initial development of the options, notes, futures, and swaps templates by end of 2021. Currently the options and notes templates are already deployed on several blockchains. Prototypes of perpetual futures, CDS (coin default swaps) and TRS (token return swaps) templates are expected to complete in the coming weeks.
The ClearDAO token listing is expected in Q1 of 2022 once the project smart contract audit is completed. In the same period, project GitHub repository will be made available to the public. The Clear SDK v1.0 will come online shortly after and details of the developer program will be announced. The governance aspect of the ClearDAO ecosystem is expected in 2022. Community members will be able to collectively decide the development path of the project.
