One of the developers of Tornado Cash has released a demo version of the new cryptocurrency mixer, which will give users the opportunity to circumvent the ban imposed by the US Treasury Department.

The initiator of the creation of a new cryptomixer was one of the leading developers of Tornado Cash Ameen Soleimani (Ameen Soleimani). He said that the US Treasury imposed sanctions against Tornado Cash on the basis that members of the North Korean hacker organization Lazarus Group actively used the platform for laundering stolen money.

According to Soleimani, the new crypto mixer Privacy Pools “will continue from where Tornado Cash stopped, but this time so that the US authorities do not interfere.” The updated application is supplemented with functionality that will not only allow owners of crypto assets to anonymously send and receive cryptocurrency, but will also check that the user of the service is not a member of the North Korean Lazarus group or other illegal organization.

In February, the Dutch District Court of East Brabant ruled that the main developer of the Tornado Cash cryptomixer, Alexei Pertsev, must remain in custody until the next hearing, scheduled for April 21, 2023, while the trial on his money laundering charges lasts.
